@sweattshop he raised taxes a few percent (which he shouldn't have) after he cut them by over 30%. He allowed the individual to run the economy. Reaganomics led to the longest and largest peacetime economic expansion. He changed the trajectory of our country (small government, low taxes, individualism and strong national defense) and he ended communism as it was knew it. He did too much to list in one paragraph Thank you, Ronald Reagan! A GREAT PRESIDENT
I am not the biggest Reagan fan either but I know my history. Reagan came in to office under the 2nd worse recession since the depression. Unemployment was over 10% and interest rates were over 15%. By 1984 the country did indeed get back to work and the economy grew an impressive 3% on average each year throughout Reagan's second term. Reagan borrowed from FDR, he allowed government spending to increase dramatically during his term. He payed a lot of lip service denying it though.
Just words. That he couldn't follow either. Iran Contra. Higher taxes. Unemployment. I was there, you want him to be a hero. He is the same as all of them.
No none can say it better!! Everyone in America should watch this...the words are as relevant today as they were then. Should we allow a bloated centralised federal government to drive our States into bankruptcy? Read the 10th and nullify unconstitutional federal laws!!
Easily the greatest president of my lifetime.
