This is a short student film I made for my class. It is sort of a tribute to classic grift films like "The Sting", but with a modern twist like "Ocean's Eleven". It is also a tribute to St. Louis. And like "Ocean's Eleven", it might take two viewings to fully understand.

To answer the first question, it is really short because we were given a two minute limit on our student films, but I still went over.

To answer the other question, I play every role because my three actors all failed to show up without adequate warning. So I had no choice but to play every role myself, and make good use of my many dialects.

Hope you like it.

  • Oscarbreach, your short film has one giant hole in it. How did the guy know he was going to be conned? Do people really walk around town with two wallets and a printed card that says, "Nice con, grifters." I don't think so. The story would have worked better if you had one wallet and hand wrote "Nice try guys."

  • You're right in that it is a bit of a plothole. The idea I was working off of is that the Scottish guy was a con-man himself, therefore he knows a con when he sees it. So he knew he was getting conned all along.

  • After viewing the video for the second time, I noticed that the Scottish guy knew it was a con from the get-go, but I still don't think the guy woke one day and said to himself, "I know someone is going to con me today. I better bring two wallets and a printed card"

Overall, I think it is a good short video. The ending is surprising, and never realized you played all three parts until the very end.

  • It could've been better if it had better photography. Try filming more close-ups of reactions; profile shots don't project as much emotion as facial reactions do. But it's still a good effort. Good job. :)

  • hahaha that was funny.. but could be better if you didnt already told us the twist.. but any way is cool for a first time. btw your site rules dude!.

  • It's pretty good for a first effort. , but it could have been better if it was a little longer.

  • Not bad at all. * * * * out of * * * * *
