Shure 940 Headphone's, Example of Isloation at High Volume Playback

So this is the Shure 940 Headphone, Shure's new flagship. It's a closed back reference headphone that has very detailed and forward highs and mids with extensive bass that is neutral and not pronounced or colored. It's an incredible headphone for acoustic, vocals, classical, indie, folk and nearly anything you throw at it that doesn't require overstated bass (like some electronic musics or hip-hop/rap). This is an example of the isolation, since it's a closed back headphone. I went with this headphone for the isolation, over the AKG K701, because I wanted to be able to use it in public and on the go without the leak of an open headphone. The isolation is quite good. This example has the volume turned up to higher than moderate-high, which is above my normal listening level. I like to listen at high volume, not even moderate. So I turned it up to get an idea of just how well it isolates at high volumes. At lower volume, you cannot hear the headphone from 3 feet away. At high volume, within 8 inches of the headphone, this is what the isolation is like. You may need headphones on right now just to hear the difference appropriately.

About the same amount of leakage as my Audio-Technica M50 which isnt bad. Will the SHR940 sound fine out of an iPhone or will I need a portable amp? I understand that amping is always better but I'm just wondering if its good without an amp anyways.
