@tetrahedrontri Just because they "love to lyrics" doesn't mean they like being abused. They love it because sadly a lot of people can relate to it, and this song deals with a topic that isn't always dealt with in modern music. Furthermore, the lyrics are really raw and it bring out problems that many people face today.

i know what she means. i can kick out any jerk who has a bad thing to say anything to say to me and i will walk away feeling nothing, but put someone i love in front of me, or even someone i think i love, and you can knock me to my knees with three words, whether they're "i love you" or "i hate you".

@tetrahedrontri from what i understood from the lyrics she was not referring to actual physical abuse but emotional. Metaphorically, when she gets hurt emotionally it lives a pain like bruises on her heart. She says,"there's a mark you leave, like a heart carved on a tree".

This is like my close friend that I hold dear. The docs said she had cancer, so they tested her and she didn't. Now they say she has a dangerous heart defect, and I'm so scared that something is going to happen. I just wish it was me instead of her.
