  • That is my home province alright. Not to mention the Toronto City Hall is still the same as it was in 1967. I was even able to recognize Hwy. 401 and Allen Rd.

  • It's hard to believe a place like this existed.

  • I think the opening of this segment is the Kensington Open market in downtown Toronto. If not, it looks like it.

  • Awesome.

    I was a kid in the 1970s.

    'nuff said.

  • How have only barely 300 people viewed this?

  • "A Place to Stand" is one of those icons of Canadian cultural mythos which, to anyone of a certain age, is highly resonant. One can only marvel at a time when the sensorium/scanning patterns of people's eyes were such that this now "quaint" film dazzled the eye with its constantly shifting multiple images. The ingenious theme - a staple of Ontario Elementary School music programs well into the 70's - was composed by Dolores Claman of "Hockey Night in Canada" theme fame.

  • The orchestration is very well done on the main theme.

Quality and Pride went behind the making of this film
