OPD run over a deaf woman

An OPD officer that was driving an unmarked car with CA Exempt plates 1139447 ran over a deaf women and left the scene as protesters surrounded the vehicle.

@ndlamont01 If I'm honest, going to a massive protest is a pretty dangerous and stupid situation to put yourself in even if you CAN hear. I know the cop should've seen her and he is technically at fault, but dumbasses crowding his car and kicking it and yelling is only aggravating the situation and stopping him from helping the woman, and the fact that they go on to claim that the police force is oppressing them is just ridiculous. Also, i highly doubt the officer "wanted to run people over."

@Chocaholic76 How was it her fault when she was walking away? She was clearly leaving the scene when the car was driving BACKWARD and hit her. Regardless if he was an officer or not, when we back up, YOU are at fault if you hit another vehicle and especially a pedestrian. If no noticed, she wasn't the only one in the road so why was the car backing up with so many people out there? Perhaps he wanted to run people over? Of course that's not the case but to blame her for leaving the scene? Please.

Why is everyone attacking the cop? its not like he did it on purpose, and really he cant be blamed for a deaf woman not being able to hear his siren, nor can she be blamed for being deaf and not hearing his siren. It was an accident, and i understand him having to supposedly leave the scene, since everyone rushed to surround his car and potentially attack him. If they cared about the woman at all they'd let him get out and help. If anything its her fault for protesting in the middle of a road.

@Roguestatus650 yep I agree with you all law enforcements should put in monitored for all public even protection to cop and civilian both. Video camera should be on network between cop officer and internal affair on 24 hours everyday. Video never lie to public furthers. After happens between cop and people into trouble so let public view and against person in error or known wrongful. so cop will loose job or put in jail depend on situation. Vote for this =)
