What is the main goal of these creatures? Just to move around? Is it possible to have a simple ecosystem with predators and prey?

Looks like a bird trying to get off the ground.

I got 3DVC, but my guy never evolves. I mean, he changes from large to small, but never actually learns anything. Also, how did you get more than one crab?

i think my bugged down or something, cause i (uhm...) sort of bombed my creature with granades and it flew off, i tried to fly and find it again but i couldnt, and when i spawn a new creature i cant see it, ive tried to unistall and install it again but it doesnt work

Strange that I also had almost this same creature (well, almost, but the similarity is striking), though it never got past the point where it had many unnecessary parts before I had to rebuild my computer. Seeing this video has convinced me to re download
the creature im currently evolving has this exact same structure , but mine is bulkier with more squares and is quicker.

@rooski8 It's one of the more common sorts of body plans that tend to be successful in this system. If / when you're done evolving your creature, feel free to send it to me and I'll enqueue it to be recorded and posted on the channel - if you like.

Either the gravity/mass in the virtual world is off, or the criteria for selection does not include energy conservation.

Both, really. Mass, gravity, "muscle" strength and so on were set just by toying with values to find something that looked okay - no attempt to approximate any real-world system. And you're right, there's no penalty for using wasteful amounts of energy.

That takes all the fun away, in my opinion.

Well, it's a possible extension to make one day when I get back to modifying the application.
