@CoolConejo I am guessing you are referring to the percent by weight concentration of fluoride. This value depends on the molecular weight of the fluoride in the toothpaste. .25% would be less than .75%. It is pretty confusing, I know.

@CoolConejo I am getting some pH strips to measure the pH of toothpastes, but most toothpastes are alkaline so the odds are with you.

I just recently bought Biotene's PBF with enzymes which are supposed to help break up the bacterial biofilm. Your thoughts? Did you happen to test the pH of that one? It also contains xylitol.

@abritrn I haven't tested it myself, but the MSDS lists the pH at 5.3-5.4 which is erosive (especially with compromised salivary flow), so I'd be careful. There are mouthwashes and saliva substitutes that have a neutral to alkaline and I am working on gathering information for a future post on dry mouth management.
