I wish the BBC WS still had a signal aimed at North America.

I think BBC cancelled all MW/SW broadcasts for Europe too. With a good receiver and antenna we still get signals from Asia or Africa.

Man, you got the squelch on that turned up!

The squelch muting is OFF.

Whatever, dude. That dashed line going up to +60 is your squelch level. Better read that manual again.

I don't use squelch muting and I don't use automatic search. Therefore squelch doesn't matter for me. Is it clear now?

Thanks for your post it has inspired me to do more with my e1. How did you control reflections in the display?
It seems that your Squelch is set to max (line under S reading all the way to right). My e1 squelches all sound when S meter reading is less than squelch threshold.
Thanks again for all of your posts!

E1 is a fine receiver. Be sure to feed it with a good antenna.
If you're trying to receive weak stations you must disable the squelch muting function. You can do this from the Audio Settings in the receiver's Menu.
About controlling display reflections: I turned the backlit to the max and turned off all lights in the room.
