CIA admits full monitoring of Facebook and other social networks. (Part 1)

According to Associated Press, the director of CIA's Open Source Intelligence, Doug Naquin, admitted the existence of a secret facility and a team of operatives for exclusive monitoring of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. But I've found evidence pointing out that these online communities might actually have been created by CIA for data mining and COINTELPRO operations on the internet.

I'm confused. How can our government monitor a half billion or more accounts? Unless they already have suspects or are looking for key phrases, how can they possibly identify any potential threats? It must take SOME actual humans doing SOME investigating, right? So why should a 14-year-old girl posting about her latest "crush" be worried? Can someone spell it out for me? Thanks.

Look up the job description for "Social Media Manager" and other similar jobs. This story is being blown out of proportion. ANYONE can do this from home with software tools and lots of people make a lot of money doing it for a living for all sorts of businesses.
