It was hot, and the wait was long -- 2 ½ hours before the parade start. However, the spirits were upbeat has 32 adults and children pulled 14 red radio flyer wagons. The wagons were donated by the Radio Flyer Company compliments of Terry and Ruth Uddenberg.
Delayne Rittmueller was the our commanding officer, er, I mean, Parade Choreographer who took us through our paces of interweaving wagons, bubbles, kazoos, and marchers.
Periodically an air horn would sound and we would chant the "Chelsea Dagger" song (Blackhawks Scoring Theme) as we waived our hands in the air.
Either due to our enthusiasm, color coordinated t-shirts and pencils, precision marching, or due to pity of the long wait -- the Glenview Parade judges awarded us first prize in the "Best Community Service Club/Church Group" award.
