We were given a silent World of Warcraft video trailer and asked to produce the entire soundtrack, foley, effects, voiceover etc from scratch. A few late nights followed, and this is the result. Original available from WoW official website. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/movies.html
(First video on that page)

I used Apple's Logic Pro 8 on a Mac Mini to create this project.
The Final Project had 21 tracks for the Score (music) plus 3 for voiceover and 32 tracks of foley/sfx. Five of the FX were Apple Sounds and the rest I recorded myself.

Thanks Martin for re-rendering the vid, Alan for the Mic and Tim for being a beancake.

  • Was a bit slow, not really exciting enough for a trailer. As an intro to a story it could work quite well though.

  • Fair enough, but it is an official trailer, I just made the sound.....!

  • You better write and tell them.... It's an official advert!

    I just made the sound....

  • Re: LOGIC

If you're a student (like me) you can get it for the ridiculously great price of £120 from the apple online education store, you need to be on your uni network to make it work. Or alternatively, look at Logic Express, which is a cut-down version that still offers almost all of the main features, for around half the price.

  • is logic pro 8 free?! io hope it is, if u used that, i cud really use it for my projects.

  • ah, no, not exactly. It runs on apple macs only, and costs £350. It is probably the best value for money all-purpose composition and sequencing software money can buy. It does so much, and comes with so many extras it's crazy! It comes on 7 DVDs, total 47GB of content.

  • good,... could be better

used a lot of recopilation from sounds and its pretty slow / repeating . and it get's pretty empry, idk., guess you didn't work it TOO much =P

  • Yeah but the sound gives it the pace. No offense, their was nothing wrong with the music I just think it would have been better suited faster paced to build a bit of tension and anticipation.

  • Despite the above comments, I'm impressed!! I can't imagine how you even start doing it... hmm, you'll have to show me, looks like fun!

  • your joking o.O oh well, gotta give up on that idea, unless i kno a friend who has it ^^
