"Definitely something to it."
Quite right; it's an intricate, skilled (and natural) artform.
Your story probably involved cold reading and choosing a *very* common name.
I don't know when your father was born, but in the 50s "George" was in the top 25 baby names in the USA and in the 40s, the top 15.
She tried to "tune in" to a specific person, missed, but scored a hit with someone else. She played the odds. Then the cold reading started.
It's incredibly realistic when done right.

What, you can't tell by the obvious skill I exhibit in this clip?
Noooo, I'm no pro. I did it full time for a few years, and now do it part time only. I've never supported myself at it and probably never will. I have, however, sold almost everything I've made that was even half way decent.

I had to watch it twice so i could listen once, and concentrate on your technique in the other ;). Again, thank you for teh cool video. I learned a lot watching you work.

*Hangs head in shame* Oh, man. Don't learn from this video. I hadn't thrown for years and was quite bad at it that day, as you can see.

Ya, I had a lot of "oopsies" on that one. I'm so out of practice. :(
