@bushanater7 LOL no one has to serve a mission but they drill it in your head as young as 5 and everyone has been indoctrinated to go. In Mormon culture you're looked down for not going and when your only 19 and have no experience of the real world out side your parents roof thats hard to just say no to everyone's expectations. Besides this is about Mormon Irony that people like me have to go but if your famous or an athlete you don't have to go. Sucks to be you.

@cwood4ever You didn't have to serve a mission! And it sounds like you didn't take it too its full advantage.

@tinkerfree2009 funny how Steve Young didn't have to serve a mission but I did just because I couldn't throw a football or sing ie Donny Osmond. Im still waiting on these so called blessing I was told I would get from serving a mission and that was back in 2001-2003.

This really should be called the greatest moments in College football history.

RB eddie Stinnett was awesome too.

RB Thor Salanoa and Waymond Hamilton were good. I was actually pulling for Mizzou in teh Holiday Bowl. but BYU always played tough with anybody. Came back and won again. I was a lil kid. They got my respect there and pulled for them in the 1984 Holiday against Michigan while Pops was cheering BYU. 1983 BYU could have been champs too, if they beat Baylor in thebeginning of the year.
Beck is next. Go Dolphins!

BYU Golden years.. failed to mention that the LDS Church / Spencer Kimball made a concerted effort to put MORE into BYU football. Steve Young did not serve a mission because he "could do more for the church" playing football.
It was a fun time to be in Provo and the new Stadium! Beating UCLA and winning the Holiday Bowl again!!
