Because it's the group that all news is passed - though not filtered - through? They take in EVERYTHING, and then everyone else takes from them what they find worth showing/printing. Granted, this is star-poop, but it's something that happened that they were given that they will now pass on to *guessing* ET and other shat shows.
Keep in mind that they don't actually make any of this, they just pass it along. It's a non-profit cooperative. You fail =/
