This is a quick-n-dirty plasma globe effect created in a pasta sauce jar filled with plain air. The jar is connected to the scavenged refrigerator compressor acting as a vacuum pump, via a hose barb JB-Weld'ed into the lid. The high voltage supply is provided using an old TV flyback transformer. Pressure pulled by the fridge pump is estimated around 20 Torr. When the pressure is decreased, the plasma becomes more focused, but also too dim to photograph...

Next steps: I need more voltage! Not to mention better fill gases...
