  • The problem with satire, is that the people who don't get it, either because they are ignorant or because they are believers in the "war on terrorism" fraud, have their delusions reinforced by the absurdity of satirical style. It can backfire an produce even more ignorance.

  • The café that provides doughnuts in the green zone should forget any dreams of expansion to other military bases as Carlyle group has just acquired Dunkin brands...

  • Then use of satire is useful because it promotes this issue to a wider audience, however, as satire it might be seen as being an exaggeration when in reality: "you couldn't make this stuff up."

    Jeremy Scahill's book didn't seem to explain Colin Powell's opposition to Donald Rumsfeld and how this influenced the key people within Blackwater.
