  • I have a Socom 2 rifle as well and was looking at doing the same thing with it. After you have done these mods, what would you recommend doing differently and what would you do the same? Also, I have seen your range videos. What kind of scope and ring setup would you recommend? Thank you for your time.

  • @jdcliffy74 Hi, I was running the Millet DMS-1 1-4x on a LaRue SPR mount, the combination works great on this rifle. I really enjoy this setup and wouldn't change a thing about it or would not do anything different. It is reliable and ergonomic now for me. I found it to be extremely reliable with good brass ammo. I had a couple hiccups with surplus ammo, but nothing major. Overall it is an exceptional choice for a all purpose rifle.

  • great vid. amazing rifle! looking to get a set up like that soon pretty stoked about it

  • @MrgunNut101 Thanks. The prices I put up are mainly MSRP since prices vary so much between stores and regions. I love the setup and feel that it makes the rifle that much more capable and also more ergonomic. Hope you get yours together soon. You wont regret it.

  • You did choose well troy scored great in fact the top number one for chassis that have a great reducer of recoil. I think the only thing you need to add is a forward grip and a light and I think you will be impressed with it's looks and over stance to withstand anything you put it trough. I have the exact same set up only I already have a scope and my has a woodland camo paint pattern.

  • @socomco Hi, I think it was money well spent. I really like the ergonomics of it now. Also the recoil is unbelievably low compared to any of my ARs. Not sure if its due to the stock or the muzzle brake.

  • 'Hiking' 20 miles with ANY weapon, much less a 12 lb. battle rifle, is going to suck sweaty pig nuts. LOL

  • @neoxyooj His prices are inflated. Shopping around will cut costs considerably. He paid 1700 for the gun. The Kittery Trading Post in Maine has Springfield Socoms in a black synthetic for 1250.00 in stock. Ive found Troy Chassis online for 515-585 without a stock in various colors. The MagPul CTR stock is 165 plus 65 for a quality buffer tube. Total cost..$1995 Find a used Springfield Socom or a older model Scout for $950 (they are everywhere) and save $300. Total cost $1695

  • It looks great. I have one with the urban camo stock. I feel the same way you do about the ergos and it just doesn't feel right. Instead of dumping another $800 bucks in it I will just get a SCAR H.

  • Diffently in the stock cus I have a m1a long barrel no muzzle break and my shoots softer than my weatherby 270! So enjoy the mods and keep in the ten range.

  • looks like you might have paid a bit much for it but it turned out really nice, pretty much everything is top notch

  • Boner.
