Technorati is great, the 'who' focus that you talk about needs more work. I have just changed my domain name. It's the same vlog, and I should be able to link the 2 domains, keep the incoming links, but I can't. It's still based on my URL, the what - not the who. By thinking about how to address this, you could really help the conversation.
& it seems to me that if you tracked comments and their authors, you could incentivise greater involvement.
Great to see your enthusiasm and passion.
