From Bahrain to Baltimore, MD, the 2009 Echoing Green Fellows work in a variety of spheres including civil and human rights, community and economic development, the environment, health, and education. Many of the 2009 fellows are launching models that harness technology for the public good, including business tools for micro-entrepreneurs in the developing world and video and internet social networking to empower defenders of human rights.

These are my people!
I feel "deep sadness" as well. It breaks my heart that there are people in our world that have no hope for the future.
It is my responsibility to make the world a better place.
