@trevjr : I guess a slightly less literal translation would transport the underlying message more clearly. Try this one by Henry S. Drinker:
Let my heart be pure as Thine / there a precious grave I make Thee / dwell Thou there, whom I adore, ever more, ever more, there to sweetest rest betake Thee / World away, world away / come Jesus mine!
This translation actually fits the music and makes it so you can sing the piece in English if you so desire.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant music. I wonder if there will ever be a musical genius like Bach again...

In English: Make thyself clean, my heart; I will myself entomb Jesus; For he shall henceforth in me; forever and ever take his sweet rest; World, begone! let Jesus in! I am not even religious but this piece brings tears to my eyes, it is like the music of Bach is caressing the words. The orchestra sound is not good here but the bass is terrific!

Beautiful ! Bach, you beautiful man.

traduccion al español :
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein, // Purifícate, corazón mío,
Ich will Jesum selbst begraben.// yo mismo quiero enterrar a Jesús.
simplemente sublime!

If it is true to its promise you will hear it all the time.

@tommieboy1657 In regards to this comment, people forget that Bach would never have been particularly picky about who sang his cantatas and oratorios. As long as they were a good singer, it seems unlikely he would have been concerned about their voices being "too big." Theo Adam and Kurt Moll also sang bass arias for Richter's recordings, and they are even bigger voices than Berry, but they both understood how to interpret the music well. That's all that matters.
