I sat motionless on the park bench. A starbucks coffee in my fragile hand. The run that morning had been wonderful. Except for the part where I broke down in tears in this abandoned park. It was literally quiet. No one around. Which I guess was okay for the moment. I had a lot to think about.

It was uncanny what a boy could do with the wink of his eyes and light smile. Nick could do wonders. I felt horrible for accusing him for giving me these bruises. I must of gotten to drunk to remember.

Another uncanny thing considering I don't drink. I sighed running my fingers through my hair before swallowing a gulp of my coffee. I then stood slowly and began walking home.

once inside I saw Nick sitting on the couch. I paused before walking over and sitting next to him.

"I'm sorry for this morning...you did all that stuff for me and all I did was accuse you of something you didn't do..." I said slowly.

He smiled to himself as if he'd accomplished some goal. "Don't worry about it...I'm just glad you came back"

"are you...really?" I asked unsurely.

"positive" he said pulling me into a hug. Something didn't feel right. I pushed the feelings aside and continued to hug the man I loved.

I did love him right?...

That night I walked into the bathroom and looked at all the bruises on my body. touching each one gently. afraid of pressing to hard and effecting the sore ness.

I sighed and pulled the shirt over my head. Turning off the light and walking into my bed room to see Nick on the phone.

He smiled at me before going back to his conversation. "I love you too..."

I frowned and walked over to bed tucking myself under the covers and leaving my eyes on him.

"Okay...bye" he hung up and then walked over.

"who was that?" I asked.

"Just my brother" Nick shrugged before beginning to take off his watch.

"Oh...you have a brother?" I asked raising my eyebrows.

"Yeah." He nodded.

"So your telling me in this whole time we've been together you had yet to mention you have a brother" I said crossing my arms.

"Look it's complicated--" he began.

"Let me see your phone nick" I said.

"What?" He said turning around and looking at me.

"I wanna call your brother back...get to know him" I shrugged sticking out my hand.

"no"

"why...could it maybe be that it's not your brother...that it's some slut you picked up at the restaurant? tell me nick did you give her a plate of spagetti too or did she prefer macoroni and nick?" I said glaring at him.

He whipped around and wacked me in the face. Making tears rush to my eyes as I held my cheek in shock.

"...I wasn't drunk last night...that was a cover up.." I said in disgust as I quickly got out of the bed and rushed to the door.

"Selena!" he yelled after me.

I ran down the stairs quickly. hearing his footsteps right behind mine. I opened the front door only for a hand to slam it shut. I whipped around and stared at him in fear. My knees began to shake.

"let me go.." I said pleadingly "please..."

"...can't you see I want you" nick said.

I looked away in disgust. "nick..."

"Your not going any where Selena.."

I looked up into his eyes . black returned. just as I'd remembered it all came back...The night before. The beating I'd gotten. The hatred he felt towards me. But before I could come back to reality, something hard hit my head and the black from his eyes cascaded into the room. Feeling it with dark cold feeling of nothing...
