@Iskate1zEro They may be "weekend warriors," but the Guard and Reserve units are our first responders. They're the ones deployed out first, while the regulars are packing up and getting ready to go.

Can Australian Black Hawk Pilots come and fly for the National Guard?

now a quick question im a dedicated marine so im not sure but why were the national guard over in afghanistan and iraq instead of staying in the states

The National Guard serves both state and federal governments. The difference between the Guard and other branches is that while Guard units are combat-trained and can be deployed overseas, they are just as likely to serve in their home communities. Thank you for your service!
