I miss teletext. At present, the Beeb's red button service takes about as load to load up and is about as full of spelling errors... just much less amusing graphically!

I still miss ORACLE. I recall, as a kid, winning one of their competitions and getting a mug and a sweat shirt, both with the ORACLE graphic on them. I was king of the world that week :)

When I was young I always wished I had something to do with Teletext. I learned how to read and write and spell through Oracle when I was an infant of the late 80s. I was so occupied with teletext that I was so sad to see Oracle close down on new years midnight of 1992 and remember Teletext UK fully launching at about 00:40. I'm sure it was a job for you, but as a viewer I was very attached to Oracle and it took me a while to understand why this franchise-thing happened. Glad I found this video.
I think they're just trying to force the government to step in and pay for it.,
I will be very surprised if it does end.
For a lot of people it's a pretty essential service.
I guess i could understand if they were switching off the analogue service but not the digital, that's crazy.
