This isn't really about style, but about making a symbolic act. Attempting to destroy the C-Consciousness is more like releasing the world from a truly destructive threat than, simply, killing the baddies.

The Common Consciousness wasnt destroyed here. Either there are more in labs elsewhere or the physical bodies of the members of the CC are irrelevant. Because something is still transmitting orders to the Monolith, the CNPP is still unapproachable and blowouts are still continuing in the Zone.

Protip:
1) Go find the endgame slideshow music for Fallout: New Vegas
2) Turn down volume on this video and play the music from New Vegas immediately after the screen fades to black after Strelok shoots up the pods.

@trabant14 he wasnt really a big character in call of pripyat so they probably didnt bother. maybe in stalker 2 though, as he is the main protagonist
