University of Arizona tennis player Andres Carrasco has put up impressive statistics in his four years as a Wildcat. Since 1988, Carrasco is second all-time at the UA in single wins, trailing Roger Matalonga with 71. From Spain, Carrasco's style as a tennis player is distinct. "I need to be vocal, I need to be active, always jumping and exercising. When I get pumped is when I play my best." But along with his play for the Wildcats, Carrasco has a following on YouTube. "I basically do impersonations of professional tennis players...I got a lot of good feedback from players, professional players, and from a lot of people around the world, so that was great. It's something different to do, something fun so why not..." His impersonations of pros have gained more than two hundred thousand views on YouTube, but Carrasco has bigger goals he'd like to accomplish.
With a couple weeks of tournament play left, Carrasco still has time to leave the UA as the all-time wins leader. An achievement that could one day have Tucson tennis fan imitating his swing.
