a little slight of hand going on here....after each 'firing' of the mortar shell, one guy takes it out of the bottom of the tube and hands it to the loader who then loads in back in the top. :)
Still a nice reenactment.
If manpower was available or the target was critical, they would have several men operating one mortar as shown. Very rarely done. Normally all the spotters would be spotting several mortars at once. 3 or 4 men would operate each mortar.

I always love theese reenactment videos , when 7 people group around a mortar :D
or 12 people around one PAK . :'D
The best I've seen was , when a colonel and a seargent were standing beside a 4 man MG42 team and said them where exactly the enemies were.

btw. effektive kampfentfernung ist sicherlich nicht die entfernung auf die IMMER gekämpft wird, aber meistens, ist schließlich nicht die maximalreichweite
