@bbri1991 PITCHING!!!

Back when the Yanks were on 11 and the Mets were on 9. Now it's the other way around.
-
1987 was a weird season, the Yanks got out of the gate well, and actually led the AL East by 5 games on July 4, but fell apart after the All Star break and finished 4th in a very tough division with 89 wins...the Yanks actually won more games than the eventual world champs (Twins)

@bbri1991 Always finishing second (Boston in '86), Orioles a couple of times in the '80s, and of course Donnie's balky back near the end of the decade. I often wonder why also, because there was only one or two medicore years in there. I didn't become a full-fledged Yankee fan until Deion showed up in '89 (Mets before that) but I did keep up with the Yanks fervently.

jesus christ...mattingly, winfield, and henderson...how THE FUCK did we not win at least one title that decade?!!!
-
I hated the off-centered center field camera angle so much it gave me such a headache watching those games from a 60 degree angle all the time!!!

@MrMorningside125 Claudell Washington, Bob Tewksbury, Ron Kittle, Dennis Rasmussen....etc. Man, I was a kid but NY baseball was an addiction and still is.

87 was a good year. They came close to making the playoffs and had a sick lineup.
