Music to my ears. I'm just now restoring an old 330 MB drive to retrieve some old data, and it has that same delicious sound. Can't wait to hear it start churning all that data.

Hmm. This is how I'm going to feel when my Packard Bell XT clone comes. It has a last-gasp 3.5" 20MB ST-125 MFM drive. I already know it has a leisurely 40 millisecond seek time. I'll bet it has a pretty interesting sound too. One that would shock anyone who's never used an 80's PC. Probably more nails to chalkboard than jet to tarmac though. After all, it's not an Ampex or CDC. If I can score such server-tier kittage cheap, that'll be my "you did whaaat?" upgrade...
