Classic Game Room reviews the Colecovision Controller for the Coleco Coleco Vision video game console. This old school controller may have the same plug as controllers for the Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis, but it is very different! Plug this into your Colecovision and use the keypad or joystick to play games like Gorf, Frogger and Defender. It feels like a remote control and has 2 buttons on the side like the Atari 7800 controller design. Only Classic Game Room reviews retro gaming accessories, controllers and hardware. Watch all of our video game controller reviews and equipment review shows. There are other alternatives to the Colecovision controller and we'll get into that in a future review. Maybe we'll try and find some aftermarket controllers with a different design.

  • "That way they don't get lonely."

Great, now I'm addicted to Classic Game Room.

  • The controller isn't half bad when you know how to hold it properly.

  • @ForgetfulCollector well i dont know if its just my controllers, or all of them, but i have a lot of problems with the joystick not working sometimes

  • Story of my life..... bend over in the shadows and stick it in there.

  • The very first videogame I ever remember playing was Lady Bug on the Colecovision thanks to my dad. When I was around 5 years old he introduced me to his Atari, Colecovision and Intellivision WAY before I even got into Nintendo. I will be doing the same thing with my kids one day. When they are old enough they are going to be playing the CLASSIC games first

  • Review some Intellivision stuff!

  • Wow, the controller is like an Atari 2600 Paddle controller and an Atari 5200 controller.

  • @MrNickdog10 Technically, yes. But, you'll need to use the keypad buttons eventually. If you have a ColecoVision Roller Controller, you can plug a ColecoVision controller into one port of the Roller Controller and the Atari joystick into the other port of the RC. Since the Roller Controller treats both Player 1 and Player 2 controller ports as active at all times, you can use the Atari controller and the ColecoVision controller's number pad at the same time.

  • so i can use an atari 2600 controller on a coleco vision??

  • It has a springy cord, a keypad, and tucks nicely into the device used with it...

    Sounds familiar.

  • @cdsballer99 Alright

  • @fatmouth007 ive never actually played a vectrex, but they look cool. and i also prefer the atari 2600 over the two.
