Educo Charity Update - November 2010

This update covers the Educo school in the slums in Tangra, Kolkata. The school was opened in August 2010.
Today, 2 and 3 year olds (131) attend playschool from 8am to 10am;
3-6 year olds (90) attend Junior Kindergarten from 10.45 to 1.45pm.
From 3-6pm there are adult vocational tailoring classes.
Starting in January 2011, Computer classes will start in the evenings.

This school is thanks to a vision that local woman Shazia had. Shazia (teacher), Arvind Sinha (film director and volunteer) and Educo (charity) together have turned this idea into reality.
Today, at least some poor children in the predominantly Muslim slums of Tangra get an education.
