"Manon Lescaut" by Auber - Act 2 Duet, PART 1 OF 3

Eric Carampatan sings the role of le Marquis d'Herigny and Laura Sage-Ruiz is Manon in this production by the Lyric Opera of Los Angeles (LOLA) on April 30, 2006 at the historic Los Angeles Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

This was a very low-budget production in an exceedingly lavish hall. The main issues were a lack of a decent lighting system, and difficulties with the set that ultimately could not be fully resolved. The music is stunning, and the performances, imho, are excellent. It's generally a very young cast. Stage direction is by Arthur Freeman and the Music Director/Conductor is Robert Sage.
