(1965)
She reportedly hates this version. Her voice is lovely as always, but the backing music is kind of absurd and not at all in character with the song...

Credits (1946): Jacques Prévert(lyrics), Joseph Kosma(music)

Lyrics:

  • @32000BTUGasGrill Z'avez bien raison :-)

  • Correction. 1970 was presented a new sound that is a combination of this song and that presented by a composer white that had painted herself brown to represent the Netherlands. She composed a few more songs for the group...never to be heard of again...well...by the band.

  • Out of character with the song? There were 2 Francois Hardy's. 1 was Rose. The other Iris? 1 had lost her sight. The other had sung with a two negro women in 1967 at Eurovision after one negro singer had died. Eurovision is not just a platform for singing. One must have proof of being an original composer. A white woman, known under many alias singing voices, painted herself to look like a black woman. The sound in the background is very similiar to a new sound 1967 for the Netherlands.

  • Despite the fact that she( Francoise) does not like this version of the song i adore this song.It is this fast transition that breaks ''uniform''arranging this song makes me unique compared to other performers.Francoise i cant imagine autumn without you! and your song.

  • @namairu me too. :)

  • As beautiful as her voice is here, it figures that she hates this version. She's right; the bongos and lounge-y arrangement were cheezy and dated--just like the silly clothes of the couturiers she eventually eluded. Francoise always understood--and chose--style over fashion.

  • This song made Shiina Ringo (Tokyo Jihen) learn French.
