Left 4 Dead 2 playing at 5040 x 1050 resolution.

Fourth day into SoftTH to create the triple head gaming experience. I made some hardware adjustments. Placed both side monitors onto the ATI 4350 and have the center screen on my Diamond ATI 5870. This setup makes my system feel like it is just running off of a single monitor. It also fixed all of the glitches, system hangups and crashes. Funny how correcting your display connections where they need to be can make a BIG difference LMAO!!! No game play issues at all. No I do not use FRAPS to count frames per second... cuts away from your performance.

Simply copied my L4D config file into the same folders in L4D2 and all went without a hitch. If you are interested in how to do this, go to http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/ and read up. SoftTH is fantastic software alternative to TH2Go which is $300 or for those who simply can't do eyefinity due to hardware or operating system constraints.

In my case, I have one more reason to stay on XP SP3. If you are in Win 7 and have a 5xxx series ATI card, eyefinity is a great option but you will need all of the same resolution monitors.

  • Vagextrol, it worked better on my system that way. I'm not certain why, it's been some time since I did SoftTH.

  • Vagextrol, sry for the late reply but I haven't checked in for so long. Hard for me to remember exactly but on my system it worked better when both were on the second card.

  • Hey Drecks, just got ur message, where would you like me to send the .cfg to???

  • Yes, PCI-E with the 4350. If your motherboard has an onboard video, you can use it to render the secondary monitors.

  • I hear ya codman! I can't afford the eyefinity option yet even though I have the 5870 that can handle it. SoftTH is the lesser cost of all options, just glad I got it to work with one of my favorite games :)

  • SoftTH website tells to put center and right monitor on main card and left on second video card.

But you have left and right monitors on second card. Why? Is it better?

And I am trying to configure my Arma2 on three monitors, but I only get the center screen stretched on all three screens. You got an idea why ?

Thank you if you give me a clue.

  • can u send me your softth.cfg?
