Just purchased sl4 and had my first crash. Wasen't doing anything crazy just randomly crashed. This is the 4th crash I've had with Serato in the 4 years I've owned and thank god it happened during practice! Just a reminder to ALWAYS have a backup!!! Ipod cables go a long way!

  • i think some of your files are on mp4.

  • @Rainasainzmann No, no mp4's in my library. Only high quality MP3's and uncompressed WAV's. All the songs that you see playing have been played numerous times before. I tried to recreate the crash but could not.

  • how many gb's of ram are you running on your macbook?

  • @21BSoundSystem

    My Specs Are:

    Macbook Pro i7 2.2 ghz

    8GB RAM

    750 GB HD.

  • Where you running OS Lion???Cos serato does not support lion yet!!!!

  • @PMcC2011 No I still use Snow Leopard. I know the issues they are having with Lion and will not install it until it's officially supported by Serato.

  • This is why i always bring an extra music source to my gigs like a CD player or something incase i crash or my USB drops out of highschool during a live set.

  • Nice setup bro....,

  • @djgush356 Inna - Deja Vu

  • whats the name of that song....the first song!!

  • I currently use the Rane 68, b4 getting this mixer my other option was the sl4. I do consider myself an expert with serato as I've been using it for over 4 year. I was watching you video closely and noticed your using a jumper cable for your usb. I'm not sure if that red cable came with the serato box but you should try using one usb cable for each usb input. This might be putting an overload on your usb on your laptop, splitting the usb power by 2. try this out and see if the happens agin

  • I hate computers for exactly this reason... no matter how expensive or how great of a computer you get, they just aren't reliable enough for stuff like this. Don't get me wrong, I use a computer to DJ also, but always have CD's as backup, and have the songs for the night on flash drives that I can plug right into my CDJ's in case the computer randomly decides it doesn't feel like working at the moment.

  • my traktor scratch pro crashed on stage during a performance too. Its on vid on my profile

  • That's why you always should take a cd with you to the club, if your system gives up :P

  • for the amount of money you have spend, the music is shite....lol

  • did you check to see if you have corrupted files in your library? Did analyze all of your songs?
