In this test the Komatsu had all three rippers in the ground compared to Cat's one. Needless to say the customer sent the Cat back.

not a fair video.you can not compare base on only ripper performance.the single shank in d8r can penetrate in rock terrain better than the stupid design of komatsu three shank ripper.better to take komatsu in the farmer field to plough. d8r is much faster as a general purpose work than komatsu. d8r is most popular machine here in gulf region.

Caterpillar used to be the leading source of construction equiptment and Truck engines, but I hate to say it but Caterpillar isn't what it once was. The earlier Cat powered dozers are WAY better than the new stuff they make. It's just a fact that people has to get over. Cat needs to bring the Name and quality back. I my self like caterpillar, but they are losing loyality to many companies around the world.

Physics, equal HP equal weight and looks like equal traction. It is imposable to pull three times the shank if the resistance per shank is the same. Must be rigged.

Well if the guy on the 8 knew how to rip and put more of an angle on the ripper so he could get under the rock (like the komatsu is doing) he could probably rip alot better.
