Starting up the 1970 Mitsubishi Colt 11F 4 door sedan.
Recently bought off eBay, had been lying in a wrecking yard for about 13yrs, in NSW. After a few starts within a week the car doesn't seem to blow smoke now. So hopefully a good engine. Sounds great!
I fed the petrol thru a funnel which was connected on the fuel line before the fuel pump, as the original fuel pipe (and cap) into the tank is missing.
On the very first start ups the flange gasket was found to be rooted, so I found an exact sized ring flange gasket at the local exhaust shop. The gasket is made for Ford Escorts.
Only two known 4 door Colt fastbacks in the world, this one and one in Sri Lanka. I really thought I'd never ever see one as only a very few were imported to Australia. Some were seen on the streets of Sydney in the late 60s, and early 70s.
Hope to get this on the road before the years out.
