Ray Harryhausen's classic JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS was originally released in 1963. This trailer, however, was assembled for the 1978 re-release of the movie. In fact, the music in the trailer is from Roy Budd's score for Harryhausen's 1977 film, SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER. Bernard Herrmann composed the score for JASON.

Someone on IMDB claimed that Honor Blackman (Hera) was dubbed by Joan Greenwood.

Is that true? Pussy Galore herself was dubbed by another actress in this film?

@manwithouthat44 You are being retro, own up to it! But yeah. Let's see some stop-motion and animatronics in a new movie. That would rock.

I like this better than CGI, not being retro here, Id wish that modern filmmakers would drop the CGI. CGI is for videogames, not film. Just the physicality of even the cheapest claymation beats digital imagery for me. It would be very interesting to see if one talented filmmaker(group) would make a fantasy epic without CGI and see what we can do with it. In the 90s a trend started of very clever implements of robotics in films, but then CGI just took over and stopped all that.

i just watched the reboot of the 1963 version. it was not NEARLY as good as the original. and not just because i watched it when i was young, and im only 25 lol. i remember watching it with my dad when i was 4-6 years old and just loving every second of it!!! and i also remember watching the original Symbad movies around the same time. that was truly a magical time for me, not just because of these movies, but they certainly helped with it :D
