Singing, playing tunes and dancing around the copse of trees at the summit of May Hill, Gloucestershire to welcome the sunrise on Mayday is a centuries old tradition.
The music begins at 5.15am and the Mayday sun rises at 5.38 at the summit.
Every year on Mayday I get up at 3.30, drink a quick cup of tea and head for the hill to cover the event. The climb, with all the heavy camera kit, in the dark is a killer for me (I'm not very fit). I gasp for breath when arriving at the summit but it's worth it. The people attending this event are just so nice.
The music and dancing is by the Lassington Oak, Forest of Dean and Wild Oats Morris dancers.
hahahaha lol
