In Fact I just found out from a friend that this record has been broken again by Reece and it now stands @ 7.42 sec

The car has a triptonis gear box ,simillar to F1 and other racing cars,as for the "Record" noteven close enough , the world record for 1/4 mile is still by Reese McGregor fromNZin his R32 with the time of 7.58 190.2 mph - 308.36 Kmh , thats done byrunning the carwith NO Nitros ,with Nitros the car will do easy under 6sec but Reese in partiular never interested in Nitro fuelling his Cars , The car for the records produces 1500 BHP and has an Identical sister Car on the road /street legal

@aracaz74 i know someone who outran some and totally lost'em in his buick GN on the interstate and zipped right in the garage and closed it. actually i forgot who, but at one time i knew him. been years ago. got home b4 the helicopter got in the area. lucky i say, it was on the traffic report on the radio and on a police channel on the scanner. he denied it but was sweaty and was really nervous like something was going on he wasnt telling us and was trying to play it off lol.

drag cars do use manual transmissions, just this one uses an air shifted one.
