There's a guy who exclusively likes to convert Rabbits and Dashers who lives in Connecticut..and another small company that prefers Geo Metro's in the Seattle area..yet another in central Utah that do Volkswagens...but the people in Hubbard/Woodburn specialise in Datsuns. I think the folks that race Datsun cars (White Zombie--see other YouTube videos) like old Datsun pickups, because leaf springs can be adjusted to balance the weight of the battery packs

I am having a Datsun truck converted down in Woodburn...next month when I take delivery I'll be one of only 3 EV owners in La Grande

Hello Mellotrongirl.
That is fantastic, those Datsun's are very nice cars, I'd be be interested in who is doing the conversion as I get a lot of requests for information.
You are going to love your new ride.
Take care.

Beautiful ride you have there. How many miles per charge do you get? Did you use a kit or or did you do all the work yourself? How much did it cost? Is there a difference in mileage in the winter? Sorry for all the questions, but I am absolutely fascinated with the concept.

Hey Dartin,
Thank you, I get an honest 20 miles with 80% charge left, and that is after 3 years on the batteries. I expect 2-3 more years with my average 12 miles per day commute.
A classic conversion from the '90s,refurbed it 3 years ago with new charger, cables and batteries, this vehicle proves the long term viability,of an electric car.
Charge time is longer at 45F than it is at 65F and range is shorter in winter.
Let's talk more if interested.
