  • were those keen sandals you had on ? nice

  • @TheBhannah From a lot of scuba diving I have a neuroma in my right foot. Keens don't aggravate it.

  • @ShamanCola My first pan was bought by my grandmother in 1914 and was washed in HOT SOAPY water, and left to soak every time it was used for 70 years before I got it, and it has even been in the dishwasher a few times in the almost 30 years I've had it. Any properly seasoned cast doesn't care about soap and water, as long as it is properly dried and oiled after.

  • @trollforge Why put it through a dish washer? Just wipe it out.

  • Green Deane, I do have one question about the cast iron electrolysis method.

Does it remove very hard and pesky carbon buildup? :S

I have an old Wagner I've tried to strip, The but the crusty carbon layer is bonded to the suface after using oven cleaner a few times.

  • @ZombiedustXXX Yes it does remove old dcrusty carbon layers.

  • I'd probably use fine steel wool and oil. The barrel device is scary! You are quite the mad genius, fun to learn from!

  • gotta love cast iron

  • A timely discovery: got a set of pans from a local 'dime' store many years ago (we don't have dimes here in the U.K., but the concept is the same.) They were left outside for a couple of years due to a move (long story) and I have been undecided as to whether to leave them behind when I move on now or 'do them up.' Now I know.

  • your welcome green Dean

  • I used CLR & scouring pad + elbow grease... clean in 30 min, then season. But urs is good too! :) love that dutch oven, I've been looking for a nice one at the flea mkts here in SA,TX

  • I think time should always be measured in bottles. ;) (or something else you might enjoy) Nice video.

  • @jdwheeler42 No, but I started a fire once by lighting the gas that came off a glass of tap water, aliminum foil, and a common drain cleaner.

  • @EatTheWeeds lol I think that was her point. She was stating the abuse the pan has suffereed.

    Good videos, man. Thanks!
