@orgasmicide2 BTW Russian politicians are, after all. politicians and "Gorby" as you call him, needed someone to blame for the economic troubles at home. He and Reagan, as it turns out, had more in common than anyone thought. Both liars and both getting high off their own fumes. I am sure Reagan would be pleased to see the more dangerous Russia of the 21st Century, run by criminals and sadists - but still - not communists. Yeah Ronnie!

@orgasmicide2 Yes, that's the revisionist half truth we all got from the media and the Reagan White House. Thanks for repeating the "facts" for us. CNN and FOX will thank you. If you remember, it was Reagan who made the case for increased military spending to stem the "soviet military threat". Hollywood even came out with Red Dawn - the Russians invading US from the sky. To say it was an absurd time would be kind.

How on earth did Reagan get credit for ending the cold war? Regan showed up for the speech. He lied about the true military power and the true motivation of the Soviets, who as it turns out, were in no shape to present a danger to the US. The people who got rid of communist party rule in Russia didn't give a tinker's damn about anything Regan said. Reagan was an opportunist - giving a speech on international TV. He did nothing that caused the USSR to fall.
