Indiana State Police pair up with a school bus driver in Bloomington, Indiana on her after-school route to snag drivers blowing past the bus stop arm. The stop arm warns drivers that the bus is stopping and children exiting. An officer on the school bus dispatched violators to officers waiting nearby.
One of the violators — a school bus driver. HeraldTimesOnline.com was along for the ride.

  • I'm not from the USA, but it doesn't seem fair if the bus driver displays the stop sign when the oncoming car is already approaching it quickly. It will cause the car driver to make a sudden brake.

  • THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT. you have no time to react. ALL the first cars didn't do nothing wrong now if the second car passed through then that is a legit concern.

  • they really werent giving them a chance to stop, a sudden brake could cause an accident. i wouldnt be talking bad about the cops though because they're just looking out for kids safety. also no bullying would be going on in the bus with cops there which is also good. if you see a bus with flashing yellows its obvious its about to stop and so should you

  • they expect you to brake agrresively in 2 seconds? sounds like they just want money from tickets to me !

  • On my school buses, the driver would always turn on the yellows, then, after the car stops, open the doors, thus turning on the red lights. I don't think its right to be so close to where you ahve to slam on your brakes.

  • FUCK COPS

  • @FoxeoGames yea you are correct, but the reds can also be deplyed without activating the yellows, trust me, ive been riding buses for 5 years here in indianapolis, and ive seen it happen. But still, the bus driver stops so suddenly and the car is coming and she expects them to fucking stop so hard...

  • @inad316 There is plenty of warning that you are unable to see.

The bus has yellow flashers indicating that they are about to deploy the stop sign, and then the yellow flashers switch to red. It's like a traffic light: YELLOW -> RED.

You just can't see what the drivers see -- they have PLENTY of time to react and stop.

  • @mike8055 What you can't see is that the bus has flashing yellow lights to signal that it's about to deploy the stop sign. The drivers have more than ample warning, you just can't see it.

  • I hate when bus drivers do this they like to put their reds on right while youre passing, and I know some would argue that you must stop when you see the yellows, but where i come from some bus drivers are dumb and they put their yellows on 50 seconds before the reds come out or they just pull over and use the yellows like hazard lights so if youre already passing a school bus and they put the stop sign out while youre halfway by the bus then youre supposed to lock it down and skid to a stop?!

  • You need anywhere from 50-70 feet to be able to stop safely. This bus driver pulls the sign out when cars are very obviously too close to stop safely. For the sake of a second, wait before you pull out your god damn stop sign.

  • busting the driver at the buses bumper when the sign goes out is bad pool then at 2:00 you have a severly distrated and unsafe trooper increasing speed no hands on the wheel and reaching and looking for his radio. where's that unsafe operation ticket?
