how many notes per bar is a dotted 8th note?
SECRyan 1 month ago
@SECRy dotted eight notes = 3 16th note blocks. You'll this does not fit in to a 4/4 time signature. Dotted 8ths fit well in to other time signatures - try changing the number of beats to 3 (upper left of the step sequencer.) Time signatures in electronic music software apps differ a bit from traditional music theory though - it can be a subject of heated debate. The study of time signatures can get ridiculous, but with electronic music you can have Impossible rhythms - no rules.

Thank you .I have a question for you. When working with a triple staff, where a two treble clef consist off a melody and chord progression, respectively, and G clef consist of a bass note( which is the first note of that particular chord),How do I place the notes on the piano roll. I know that C5 splits the piano keys between bass clef and treble.I just don't know which octave I should use on fl studio from the music sheet.

@mDubzSex2MyEars middle c=c5 in fl studio and this is the same for cakewalk, but some music apps use c4. There is more to consider though. Most synth instruments are not pitched to standard octaves either. So middle C for a bass synth might be c3 or even c2 for sub base by default. The pitch is almost always right, but to deal with octaves, it's best to rely on your ear rather than what you see.

Is changing the PPQ the same thing as zooming in?
SaintReverb 3 months ago in playlist More videos from ste1438
@SaintReverb No - the ppq adjusts the divisions per quarter, the FL zoom does not change that. It's something that you hardly ever need to worry about any more. The only time is if you decide you need 128th notes ( but that is a bit ridiculus). When I created this tutorial - the zoom in FL Studio was determined by the PPQ - now it's different, you really don't have to change the PPQ at all.
