This is audio describing a lesser known yet important contribution by G.K Chesterton. Chesterton "the apostle of common sense," provides insight into heretics, not in the common connotation, but applying it to the fallacies and shallowness of modernism, moral relativism and the lack of modern conviction. Chesterton wisely points to the intolerance of tolerance, the lack of progress in many progressive thoughts, and the threat imposed by the breakdown of the family unit. Hope you enjoy and God bless!

  • Haven't read much by him, but I think Chesterton had some good arguments,. Mainly read about him through proto-New Age Alan Watts, and another catholic convert Arnold Lunn. Lunn's The Flight from Reason makes a lot of sense, and I think his thought is much like Chesterton's. I think that much so-called 'rationalism' is pretty thin, and I'm not convinced about Darwinism. Don't honestly understand much of Christianity though. Find gnostic models as plausible- is that modern wishy-washiness?

  • Wow, sounds like my type of book. Wonder if there is a complete audio version?

  • I really enjoyed this clip. There were many good things but what I thought was the best or at least stood out was your comment that "the reason he could recognize heresy is becasue he could expose imcomplete thinking" was quite profound. thanks for posting this. Cheers

  • The minute beforehand holds the explanation. Start the track around 4.20?

  • HEAR! HEAR!

  • I am reading "Man Alive" and am really enjoying it!!

  • Thank God for EWTN. The Chesterton programs on EWTN have made me a huge fan of his. I'm reading "The Everlasting Man" now. I probably never would have gotten into Chesterton without EWTN.
