50s........they just aint got it. Loved by rail fans only because of the times they worked.......hydraulics, deltics, peaks and class 40s had all gone when these were at their most popular. They were destested for killing off steam in the North West and later on for replacing the 52's.

Class 40's and Peaks more popular than class 50's!!! I think not!!! I agree with Hydraulics yes and Peaks were big, I should known I drove them. But class 40's are and were the biggest piece of crap to grace our glorious British Rails. And I should know I didn't bash them I drove them and what a disgrace they were. Give a 45 any day better still give a 47. But given a choice give me a class 25!!!!
