The San Francisco Fire Department is mourning the loss of two of its members from Engine Company 26, who were both critically injured during an explosion while bravely fighting a house fire at 133 Berkeley Way in the Diamond Heights neighborhood on June 2, 2011. Both died at the hospital as a result of their injuries after all rescusitative measures were taken by the Emergency Trauma staff at San Francisco General Hospital. (sf-fire.org)

@Dusco25 Well, whether they did or not the SFFD was covered. Members from the many Bay Area fire departments manned our firehouses with their apparatus. Many thanks to them for their duty and service. Certainly above the call of their duty.

It was not just the firefighting community that mourned . It was an entire city that mouned the loss of two of it's heroes that day . Idaho firefighters stand in solidarity and sorrow with the SFFD in the loss of two of their bretheren .
