Longview vs Pine Tree, 2008, 1st Quarter Part 1

Despite not meeting for 21 years, the Lobos' and Pirates' cross town rivalry took no time at all at refinding that old hatred they showed throughout the 80's.

Longview, looking to complete it's 5th straight undefeated district campaign, strolled into Tyler's Rose Stadium with a 7-2 record (8-1 on the field) and a 27 game district winning streak. The Pirates however were 2-6 on the season and looking for an upset.

The Pirates put up a good fight for the first 2 quarters, causing the Lobos to fumble it 4 times on the night, but in the end...Longview showed why they hadn't lost in district in 5 straight years. Longview knocks off cross town rival, Pine Tree, 41-14.
