This solo was taken from the 1979 concert from Joni Mitchell and her touringband 'The Persuasions' at the Santa Barbara County bowl. It is called: The high and mighty/Third stone from the sun.

  • You simply cannot compare a jazz bassist to a metal bassist. Actually you can't really compare any musicians, but certainly not Jaco Pastorius to Cliff Burton.

  • shit vid... out of sync

  • @flaxys112 If you were to compare though, Jaco shits on Burton.

  • the sound is really really ahead of the video.

  • its hilarous how on 1:30 he's turning the knobs but there's a lick playing in the audio

  • The pants make this awesome.

  • WoW, I was one year old.

  • Does anyone know what brand/model loop pedal Jaco was using?

  • Um... Is this the only piece of music you have listened to from 1979 or earlier? Surely you have seen Jimi Hendrix using pedals 10 years earlier than this video?

Of course they had pedals, but Jaco used a rackmount MXR delay unit though.

  • Воистину, это Великий, никем не превзойденный музыкант

  • That bass is so busted, but has a great sound.
